Through efforts by Q Foundation and Mayor London Breed, we have launched San Francisco’s new HIV+ rent subsidy, QHARP (HIV/AIDS Rent Program).

2,390 people with HIV in SF are homeless or unstably housed. We have the 4th highest rate of homeless, along with African Americans, Native Americans, disabled adults, and transgender residents. But there is hope. Let us turn hope on by attending our launch and subsidy application event and see if you qualify. Space is limited so please RSVP.

Requirements to Apply for QHARP
Applicants should bring the following documents for all adult household members 18 years or older. Household members include partners, spouses, family members, children, etc. For the purposes of our program household members, please do not include unrelated financially and legally independent roommates.
  • Valid Photo ID: An original or clear copy of a photo ID. The ID should list their full name and date of birth.
  • Bank Statements: The three most recent months of all of bank and/or debit card statements (November, October, September).
  • Proof of Income: Their current benefits award letter showing their full monthly award and any deductions AND/OR their 3 most recent pay stubs AND/OR an employment offer letter.
  • Letter of Diagnosis: Signed and dated documentation of HIV status from a licensed medical provider.
Please note that while all of the above documents are required to approve a rental assistance application, if someone does not have all of the required documents, but can provide them to Q Foundation at a later date, we encourage individuals to attend to the fair to begin the application.
